Kids Day on the Plaza every Tuesday from June 6 through August 29 at National Harbor
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., June 1, 2023—National Harbor celebrates summer for children and families with a free Kids Day on the Plaza
every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the waterfront plaza stage (150 National Plaza.) The fun Tuesday mornings begin on June 6 and continue through August 29. Enjoy summer sunshine and cool river breezes along with a rotation of family-friendly activities.
Summer of Adventure with Howard University Television (WHUT), who will host select Tuesdays from June 27 – August 8. The public broadcasting station will screen PBSKids programming and facilitate fun activities during the following themed weeks:
June 27: All About Nature with a showing of Wild Kratts
July 11: Feel the Beat with a showing of Work it Out Wombats
July 25: Discovery Day with a showing of Rosie’s Rules
August 8: Full STEAM Ahead with a showing of Odd Squad
The other weeks are a rotation of activities including interactive story time with dancing and singing with the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System, magicians and puppet shows with Blue Sky Puppet Theatre! There are other musical sessions, games and activities and a meet and greet with Prince George’s County Police Department and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.
The Capital Wheel features a special “Kids Day” free kid’s ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket on Kids Days so parents can extend the fun of the morning’s activities.
“Tuesday mornings at National Harbor have been designed to entertain and educate area kids while providing interactive and fun experiences,” explained Deborah Topcik, director of marketing at National Harbor. “It’s another way that National Harbor supports our community.”
Other activities for families at National Harbor (there’s a cost for these) include Muse Paint Bar, open to all ages, the brand new escape room Escapology with themed room and birthday packages. Adults ride free with a paid child ticket on the Americana-themed Spirit Park Carousel. Everyone will have a blast as the rides are unlimited for the day. Topgolf offers fun on Tuesdays with half-off-golf or for older kids, sign them up for lessons during Summer Academy.
Movies on the Potomac
features free family-friendly movies on the waterfront plaza each Sunday at 6 p.m. through the end of September.
Everyone will scream for the National Ice Cream Fest
on June 17 in the Spirit Park lot with ice cream samplings, entertainment and live music by the Legwarmers. The laughs continue when UniverSoul Circus returns to the Plateau at National Harbor (300 Waterfront St.) from June 30 and throughout the summer with a highly interactive combination of circus arts, theater and music that spans genres.
