NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., Nov. 29, 2022—Celebrate the holidays at the Washington, D.C. region’s premier waterfront resort escape. National Harbor’s popular holiday celebrations take place throughout the destination with events and activities all season long for the whole family. Here are nine ways to celebrate the season at National Harbor:


Ignite your Holiday Spirit with the Lighting of a New, RGB, 60-ft. Tree Every Night

Now through January 2, ignite your holiday spirit with the lighting of the new, RGB (red, green, blue computer generated light that creates more than 16 million hues of light) 60-foot tree and two million twinkling lights in the Waterfront District at National Harbor. The tree light show takes place nightly, every half hour from sunset to 9 p.m. The light show dances alongside a holiday medley recorded by the U.S. Air Force Band. Saturdays till December 17, guests will enjoy a spectacular fireworks display following the 5:30 p.m. tree lighting.


Experience SO.MUCH.CHRISTMAS and ICE! at Gaylord National Resort

Back this year at Gaylord National Resort, the world-famous interactive ICE! attraction returns with A Christmas Story in larger-than-life sculptures and slides made completely of ice. The hand-carving of 10 million pounds of ice is done over 6 weeks by 40 artisans from Harbin, China. ICE! is part of Gaylord National’s holiday celebration “SO.MUCH.CHRISTMAS” that includes photos with Santa, ice bumper cars, and more! Take Pictures with Santa at The Capital Wheel

Meet and take photos with Santa before a spin on The Capital Wheel on Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 from 2-4 p.m. Ticket purchase to The Capital Wheel required for photo opportunity. The Capital Wheel soars 180-ft. above and provides spectacular views from its heated gondolas.


MGM National Harbor is All Dressed Up and Featuring Cirque Dreams Holidaze


MGM National Harbor celebrates the holiday season with spectacular decorations throughout including the property’s popular Conservatory where the holidays come alive with a breathtaking display. Cirque Dreams Holidaze will be at the Theater at MGM National Harbor from Dec. 15-18.


Shop Tanger Outlets

Holiday Movies on the Potomac

Pack your chairs and blankets, grab food to go from one of the delicious dining establishments and meet on the Plaza’s big screen for a free afternoon of fun for all ages with holiday classics. Movies play at 2pm on Sundays till December 18.
