Gen Z Entrepreneur Opens The Drop at National Harbor
Store evolves from social media and street sales only to bricks-and-mortar retail
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., Feb. 8, 2023—Twenty-one year old Andy Ngo was successfully selling exclusive and limited athletic shoes, accessories and clothes through social media when he realized that National Harborhas become a haven for entrepreneurs trying new products and ideas. The Drop buys, sells and trades Nike, Adidas and other brands. The store is 2,100 square feet and continues to attract customers through its Instagram offers and posts.
“We are so happy to have this creative, young entrepreneur and The Drop in our retail mix,” said Kimli Cross, vice president of leasing for Peterson Companies (owners and managers of National Harbor.) “The store caters mostly to our younger audience at National Harbor.”
National Harbor will celebrate 15 years this year and has a roster of new tenants. The property remains a popular location for retail and restaurants as well as offices and residential. No surprise with more than 2,500 current residents and traffic of 12 million annually.
Cross added, “Over the past 15 years, National Harbor has established itself as a major destination by carefully curating our tenant portfolio. It is our goal to further enrich the customer experience for our residents and visitors.”
