Join us on February 21 at National Harbor in bringing awareness to the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative. Heart disease claims the lives of more than 8 million women each year – and the American Heart Association fights back by organizing fundraisers and events year round to bring awareness regarding the disease to women across the country. From fundraisers to discounts to special programming, National Harbor is hosting its own Go Red for Women day; bring a friend and dress in red!
From 10am-5pm – The National Children’s Museum will host educational programming to highlight the importance of exercising for heart health. This is a great way for parents and children to learn healthy habits together!
From 11am-2pm – McDonald’s will be offering free blood pressure screenings; everyone who gets their blood pressure screening will receive a free Premium Salad or a free Large Sandwich. There will be a spin wheel for prizes and Ronald McDonald will make an appearance!
Starting at 5pm – The Tasting Room Wine Bar & Shop will have goodie bags for the first 100 people who arrive wearing red! The goodie bags will contain National Harbor maps and a list of all participating retailers so you can plan your night. The Tasting Room will also be offering red wine tastings and specials!
Starting at 6pm – Bobby McKey’s, National Harbor’s own dueling piano bar, will be hosting a Go Red for Women fundraiser. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Bobby McKey’s has generously offered to donate a percentage of all sales for this event to the American Heart Association.
2 Sessions at 6pm & 8pm – Complimentary yoga classes! Bring a mat and find your zen. We ask that you check-in with an event organizer at The Tasting Room to be put on the list for each class and to get directions to the fitness class location.
All Day – Our retailers will be offering great deals and promotions on items like heart healthy foods to red-themed apparel.
